High cases of Covid 19 Pandemic in Kenya

In the month of June 2020, Kenya has been reporting higher numbers from covid 19 infections.  These numbers are quite alarming.  When other African countries are planning to reopen schools and other businesses that had been put on hold due to the pandemic like hospitality industries and transportation Kenya remains uncertain on when to resume normal operations completely.

On June 17, 2020 the Ministry of health reported 184 new cases of covid 19.  The figures were drawn from a sample of 2000.  The number of cases now is about 4,044 cases in Kenya.  Every day the ministry is reporting new cases and some of the infected people still remain at large since they provided wrong personal contacts due for the assumed fear of being quarantined. The track drivers are reporting on being humiliated at the Kenyan borders and they not being able to gain access to Tanzania and Uganda.  Many remain stranded with most resulting to parking their trailers along the road sides of Namanga and Busia counties.

The residents of Busia are complaining of their youth being impregnated by those drivers as they are idle and freely mingling with the youth in exchange for money.  The cases of girls being pregnant has also risen in a span of three months.  The pregnant girls are now worried since they wont be able to join others when the schools reopen in September as it was announced by his excellency the president that the schools are likely to reopen by then.
