State House officials Test Positive for Corona Virus

Corona has been detected in the state house.  Yesterday on Monday June 15,2020 the State House spoke person Kanze Dena confirmed that four employees had contracted the virus and they were being treated at University of Kenyatta Hospital.  She also noted that the families of those four had been quarantined to contain the spread of the virus further.  She however also confirmed to the public that the President and the First family were also tested and found to be safe from the virus.

As we are all aware, since the out break of the virus all public gatherings were put on hold but State House has been hosting all the important events of our country including Madaraka Day and Labour day.  All high profile meetings have also been going on in State House.  These gatherings could have contributed to this infection and also the four employees being non residential could have gotten it from other sources.

Kanze Dena asserted that as a matter of urgency, and to strengthen Covid 19 containment measures, extra access protocols for State House staff residing outside the compound and visitors have been rolled out. The point to take home being that we are all vulnerable to the virus.  This comes at a time when many are now assuming that the virus is no longer in the country.  The message from Kanze Dena acting as an eye opener to everyone to be extra conscious of everyone in their midst.
