REOPENING OF SCHOOLS

On Monday 1st June 2020 the President of Kenya His Excellence Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta on Madaraka day at State House honoured Kenyans who have worked extremely tirelessly to ensure that Kenyans stay safe during this period of Corona Virus pandemic.  The president who is the Chief -in-Commander of Kenya Defence Forces celebrated and appreciated the efforts of Doctors who have been  sacrificing their lives by treating and sensitising Kenyans on Covid 19 pandemic.

SWEARING IN OF PROF. S.G. KIAMA AS THE 8TH VICE - CHANCELLOR OF THE UNIVERSITY OF NAIROBI

This event is scheduled to take place on Friday June 5, 2020 in Taifa Hall from 10.a.m. As we are all aware Covid 19 is here with us and to prevent the further spread of the virus,  this event will be streamed live online to  observe social distancing, reduce congestion of people and have wide coverage. It is unfortunate that this important event of the university will happen at this time of corona when most of the staff are working from home and the students are home due to the pandemic.

TEACHING CHINESE LANGUAGE IN KENYA

The Chinese Embassy handed over the magnificent University of Nairobi Confucius building on Friday May 29, 2020 to the Government of Kenya, represented by Prof. G. Magoha.  Present during the event was the Chancellor of the University of Nairobi Dr. Vijoo Ranttansi and The Vice Chancellor Prof. S.G. Kiama. The ceremony was also graced by the chair of Council Prof. Julia Ojiambo. 

THE YOUTH FIGHT CORONA VIRUS

The Corona Virus has been with us since March 2020 to date.  It has spread all over the country and it has caused many people anxiety and panic wondering what to do next.  The young and the aged are all worried. Through this confusion, stress and worry that the pandemic has caused, the young activists and volunteers across the globe are generating ideas, energy and empathy, saving countless lives by distributing sanitizers and sensitising the the people on the best way to combat the spread of the virus further.

HANDING OVER THE CONFUCIUS BUILDING

The government of the Peoples Republic of  China represented by Amb. Wu Peng tomorrow will hand over the Confucius Institute to the Government of  Kenya represented by Prof.G. Magoha, Cabinet Secretary, Education. The building is along Aboreturm drive, State House Road.
