The University of Nairobi wishes to report that it had a successful teaching and Examination online. The Deputy Vice-Chancellor Academic Affairs in his memo to staff extended his gratitude by thanking the Director ICTC and Director ODel for ensuring that the teaching and examinations are held as planned without hiccups.
Most of the Units reported challenges of inter-connectivity and network failure but all these challenges were sorted by the ICT support staff who were always available to deal with such cases and ensure that the processes are not disrupted and all the examinations were conducted as scheduled. Those students who had reported about the network being inaccessible from their counties were also sorted.
As the Vice Chancellor had communicated earlier in his installation speech that no student will be left unattended. This is the first time for the University of Nairobi to examine the students online. This mode of delivery came as a surprise to the staff and students but it has been fulfilled even though there was no much preparation towards this end as the students and staff were unfamiliar with the procedures of teaching and learning online.
