THE 6TH CHANCELLOR PROF PATRICK VERKOOIJEN BEGINS TENURE WITH INAUGURAL TOUR OF UON

On Monday, January 29, 2024, the University of Nairobi extended a warm welcome to Prof Patrick Verkooijen, the recently appointed Chancellor, with a formal tour and engagement sessions.

The esteemed Chancellor recognised for his outstanding guidance and dedication to scholarly distinction, participated in various endeavours designed to cultivate a vibrant and internationally competitive milieu inside the institution.

Administration Staff Recognised During Annual Staff Recognition Awards Ceremomy, 2023

During the annual UoN Staff Performance Recognition Award ceremony, Six administration members of staff, namely - Harrison Akala Dep,Registrar Industrial Relations,Margaret Gichamba (Assistant Registry Supervisor),Lydia Wanjiru (Registry Clerk), Phylis Makungu (Registry Clerk) ,Edward Nandebe (Registry Clerk) Linet Nunda (Registry Clerk) received awards in recognition of their exemplary service.

This event was held simultaneously with the signing of the University of Nairobi Performance Contract for the year Financial Year 2023/2024.

Administration department engages in tree planting exercise at the Faculty of Science and Technology.

Administration department and members of the UoN Fraternity engages in tree planting exercise at the Faculty of Science and Technology on 16th June,2023.The event which was graced by Prof. Ogengo was done in partnership with the National Biosafety Authority, Kenya Forestry Service, Equity Bank and the County Government of Nairobi.

Benchmarking visit by Garissa University to the University of Nairobi

The Ag. Registrar, Administration and Assistant Registrar, Vice Chancellor’s Office from Garissa University visited the University of Nairobi on a benchmarking excercise.

This was aimed at helping Garissa University improve its operations and provide better services to the students and staff.

Among the UoN fraternity present  during the visit were Ag. Registrar Administration,Deputy Director ICT, and Acting Director Finance among other senior members of the university management.

UoN and Partners plant 11,000 Trees

The University fraternity and its partners gathered and planted 11,000 tree seedlings on Wednesday, November 16, 2022. This is in line with the president’s directive for all citizens and organizations to help the government achieve its aim of planting 5 billion trees as part of its climate mitigation agenda.

Among the partners that were donated the seedlings included Qwetu student residences, Platinum Credit Limited, Heard of Green, Kenya Forest Service (KFS), Kenya forest research institute(KEFRI) and the National Environmental Management Authority of Kenya (NEMA).
