INAUGURATION OF PROF. STEPHEN GITAHI KIAMA

This is to inform and invite all members of staff  to come and witness the inauguration ceremony of Prof. S.G. Kiama as the 8th Vice - Chancellor of the University of Nairobi.  This event will take place on January 21, 2020 in Taifa Hall at Main Campus at 9.00a.m.  All staff, students and our honorable guests are encouraged to be seated by 8.30a.m.  There will be various forms of entertainment from the students and it will be a colourful event with speeches  of congratulatory messages.  Come one come all.  The University of Nairobi is the place to be.

COMMUNICATION SKILLS TRAINING AT UON

The University of Nairobi organized for a one day training of its staff on communiction skills. 

Communication skills are abilities used when giving and receiving different kinds of information. Some examples include communicating ideas, feelings or what’s happening around you. Communication skills involve listening, speaking, observing and empathizing. It is also helpful to understand the differences in how to communicate through face-to-face interactions, phone conversations and digital communications, like email and social media.

WORLD'S AIDS DAY CELEBRATIONS

The world's day celebration shall be held at the Chancellor's court at the university of Nairobi on Friday november 29, 2019 from 8.00a.m to 4.30p.m.  please purpose to be part of the celebrant as we mark this year's event.  Come one come all.  T-shirts  will be given to all participants so dont miss out.  Join the police band as we match from administration block to chancellor's court.

Research week at the University of Nairobi

This year's research symponsium started on Monday November 18, 2019 and it will be ending today Friday November 22, 2019.  Those who missed the beginning of the research week you are encouraged to come and be part of the ending ceremony.  It is better to be late than not to attend at all.  A lot has been discussed and done but you would be able to catch up and learn from others too.  Come one come all.

Sensitization/Training of staff in College of Architecture and Engineering on the Procedure for Control of Records

During the sensitization/training the records manager emphasized on the importance of prudent records management by the staff creating, using and maintaining records.  Records play a major role in decision making and they hold the historic memory of our University .  For the University to operate effectively and efficiently the records must be easily available at a point of use and when needed by the authorized staff only.

Sensitization/Training of staff in College of Architecture and Engineering on the Procedure for Control of Records

 Acting Records Manager on Friday November 8, 2019 sensitized/trained the College of Architecture and Engineering staff on the concept of Records Management by going through the Procedure for Control of Records, UON/OP/02.  This procedure is designed to cater for records of the university from the point of creation to the final stage of the records disposition.  During this period records are created/received, used, maintained and finally disposed of as Archives or destroyed for those without continuing value.
